Back up & restore GB WhatsApp chats
The single rule that prevents almost all lost-chat problems: make a local backup on the same phone number before you install or update. Cloud-only (Google Drive) backups from the official app do not always restore into a modded client, so the local backup is what matters.
How to back up and restore your GB WhatsApp chats
Do this before installing or updating and you will never lose your message history.

Back up on your current app
On official WhatsApp: Settings → Chats → Chat Backup → Back Up. This writes a local backup to your device storage.

Note the same number
Restore only works if GB WhatsApp uses the same phone number as the backup.

Install GB WhatsApp
Follow the install guide, then verify your number with the OTP.

Restore when prompted
During first launch GB WhatsApp detects the local backup and offers Restore — tap it before completing setup.

Future backups
Inside GB WhatsApp: Settings → Chats → Backup. Keep a periodic local backup so you never lose history during an update.

If restore does not appear
